In this type of case study video, the customer or client shares his or her story about purchasing a product or service and they explain key details about their use of the product or their need for the service on camera. These types of video case studies are frequently used by business owners to show off their products and to build up audience understanding in regards to the various benefits of the products they sell. Explainer-style video case studies present the customer and their problem, the product, and the solution to the audience so that they can decide whether purchasing the product is potentially the right choices for their needs.

  1. Talking Head Style Video Case Studies

The final format that is frequently used for video case studies is the talking head style video. Talking head videos represent one or more people who talk interview style speaking directly into the camera. The camera shot typically only captures the top portion of the speaker, shoulders up, although some talking head videos will capture from the waist up in certain circumstances.  The purpose of the talking head video case study is to create a sense that the audience is being spoken to directly from the customer.
