 Interactive Training Video Example List

The use of training videos can save your business up to 95% on training costs, but many business owners wonder what types of training to provide with video. They also often have concerns about video not being “real” and lacking the same interactive experience that in-person training generally provides. However, those that don’t think video is interactive have certainly been mistaken because there are now many interactive features that can be incorporated into training videos. In this interactive training video example list we’ve outlined the most common interactive features to include in training videos as well as what to expect with each.

Branched Stories & Path-Based Training Videos

Our first interactive training video example is branched-stories otherwise sometimes known as path-based training videos. These types of training are often used in the healthcare industry as well as across many other industries where training to think quick and respond without error is essential. Using the branched story training technique, the viewer chooses how they navigate through the video and can immediately see the outcome of their decision.

Various decision points are integrated into the video so that the user faces scenarios in which they must decide an action or answer a question in order to move forward along a particular branch or path. The result of this type of interactive training video example is that each user may experience a different training plot or scenario because of their own actions and thought processes as they move along. Think of it almost like a video game, the choices that you make while playing impact the way the game turns out – this is also true for branched stories.

Clickable Hotspots & Links in Training Videos

In another interactive training video example, links or clickable hotspots are incorporated into the content in order to grab the attention of the audience and encourage them to click through. When the user clicks the hotspot or hovers over the hotspot they are either simply provided additional information that reinforces the training or they may be taken to another location of the video to continue the training.

This interactive feature is similar to the path-based training, but only one path is offered with a hotspot. Hotspots can include additional information for the viewer or they may include links to other outside sources that reinforce the training that is being provided. The use of clickable hotspots is an interactive training feature that can be used in a variety of different ways depending on the style of training being provided.

Immersive 360° Video Views in Training Videos

Another interactive training video example is the use of immersive views in which the audience can look up, down, left, or right in the environment in which the video was filmed. These 360° video views became incredibly popular online across things like the real estate industry initially where viewers were able to see all around the inside of a home or property, but they’re now being increasingly found in training videos.

With this immersive experience, viewers are given the option to view the scene from various perspectives and angles including a top to bottom experience that is incredibly valuable for training. This type of interactive training video example might be used to teach CSIs how to recognize clues in an environment, how to teach travel agents the art of using descriptive terms to describe a travel experience, or for a wide array of other potential uses as they apply to the position, organization, or training that is being offered.

Quizzes, Polls & Q/A Sessions in Training Videos

Training videos that reinforce topical coverage with quizzes or polls are incredibly useful across many industries. They not only provide the viewer with an engaging experience in which they can be interactive, but they also make it possible for management or those who distribute the training to look back and see how a user interacted with the content or to determine knowledge transfer.

Just as the title mentions, quizzes, polls and Question and Answer sessions included in interactive training videos ask the viewer various questions and provide multiple choice answers that they can choose from. Because of the level of interactivity that is provided in this manner, as well as the nature of a quiz, viewers will stay directly focused on the content provided when this type of training is used.

If you really want to be sure that your audience is learning from the training you provide, and you want to have proof that of knowledge transfer, quizzes are a great solution!

As you can see from each interactive training video example that we’ve listed previously, there are a variety of ways the you can incorporate interactive features into your video training to engage your audience while educating, too. Many interactive training videos now incorporate multiple interactive features into each video to ensure maximum engagement from their audience while providing an immersive experience that meets the needs of both the trainer and the viewer.
