Top 8 Cameras Las Vegas Video Camera Crews Swear By

In Las Vegas, Nevada, you’ll discover that we make great films, thanks to our amazing crew, as well as our incredible gear. We’ve made a list of the best gear that our Las Vegas video camera crews can’t live without. Whether we’re filming near the Luxor Hotel and Casino or shooting b-roll anywhere on the Las Vegas Strip, our crew will provide you with the best results, using the best cameras, along with the right lens kit and operator.

We’ve made a list of 8 go-to cameras Las Vegas video camera crews use for best results. From HD 1080p to 4k, you know that you can depend on our DP’s and talented cinematographers and their choice of equipment. Our Las Vegas camera ops know exactly which option is best for each project. Take a look at our favorite ones:

Arri Alexa Mini

ARRI ALEXA MINI

The Mini is everything you could want in a go-to camera. Its small and compact size makes it easy for us to film on the go while it’s unique features still allow us to film the quality footage you’d get from a larger camera. We love the eyepiece viewfinder that is actually much better than on some higher-end options.

Sony A7S

There are not always favorable light conditions during projects. This is when a Sony A7S comes in handy. It’s very simple to use and allows for better low-light footage than most. Also, the expansive ISO makes for great quality shots. Our Las Vegas video camera crews consider this piece of gear to be one of most important ones.

Red Dragon

The Red Dragon doesn’t only look cool, it is cool. It has some great features that allow us to capture pristine footage. From the 6k resolution to the carbon fiber material it’s made from, it’s both reliable and easy to use. You’ll hardly ever see us without our Red Dragon. She’s just that dependable.

Arri Amira

ARRI AMIRA

She isn’t pretty and she may not have as many cool features as some of our other options, but when it comes to customizing settings, we like this girl. We use her for a lot of documentary-like shoots, and also as a go-to camera for when we want to use a camera with a pre-programmed setting.

Sony PMW-F55 CineAlta 4k Digital Cinema Camera

Sony F55

We like the 14+ stops of dynamic range on this camera that is often used for high-end productions in the film industry. It’s a pretty amazing camera, thanks to the fact that it has 8.9 megapixels, and lets us get really clear footage. We’ll admit that it’s pricey, but it’s a case of “you get what you pay for” and we’re glad to have it on our team.

Canon C300

Canon C300

We like that the Canon C300 is both adaptable and highly customizable. We love having the flexibility to already have our settings ready to go and we also like how we can easily use it with other equipment, thanks to the SD card, SDI and HDMI ports.

Black Magic Production

Blackmagic Cinema

Not all of our gear has global shutters but that’s one reason why we like the Black Magic Production so much. It allows us to capture clear, non-wobbly footage, and while it is a heavy camera, it’s helps us get clear footage, making it one of our must have cameras. We also like the rubber roof mount that helps to keep the screen protected.

Canon EOS 5D MARK III

Canon EOS 5D

This camera has customizable settings which let us pre-program it for those moments when we just want to shoot. While the set-up may initially take some time, it’s worth it for us so that we can great shots at a moment’s notice. Our Las Vegas video camera crews also appreciate the AF options that allow for better footage.
