    What We Do

A Raleigh Videographer for Technology, Life Sciences, Education, Government, and Corporate Brands

Capturing polished footage is only one part of the production. Our Raleigh videographers start with the audience, message, and action the finished video should support. We then build the interviews, visuals, locations, and post-production plan around that objective.

The Triangle’s concentration of technology companies, life-science organizations, universities, government agencies, healthcare systems, and startups provides a wide range of stories to tell. The finished content can support recruiting, marketing, product communication, training, internal communications, investor presentations, and branded campaigns.

    Filming in Raleigh

What It's Like Filming in Raleigh

Raleigh offers civic architecture, corporate offices, research campuses, historic warehouses, parks, and museums across the city and Triangle. Downtown and Fayetteville Street provide government and business settings, while the Warehouse District adds restored brick buildings and Raleigh Union Station. Research Triangle Park and NC State’s Centennial Campus support technology, life-science, academic, and recruiting content, with access arranged directly through each company, university, or property manager.

Filming on city streets, sidewalks, or public plazas may require a Film and Photography Permit through the Special Events Office, with a $50 nonrefundable application fee. Large or multi-location productions should apply at least 30 days ahead, while applications filed less than two weeks before filming may not be reviewed. City parks require a separate commercial filming permit, and state-owned buildings such as the North Carolina State Capitol require direct approval from the managing state agency.

Local Filming Tips (Save Your Crew Time)

    TopicQuick Advice
City PermitsFilming on public streets, sidewalks, or plazas may require a Film and Photography Permit through the Special Events Office. The application fee is $50. Allow at least two weeks, and plan for 30 days when the production spans several locations or filming days.
ParksCommercial filming in City of Raleigh parks requires an annual permit through Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources. Additional reservations or approvals may be needed when the shoot requires exclusive space, vehicles, large equipment, or changes to normal public access.
State PropertyContact the agency or facility that manages the location. The North Carolina Film Office can provide guidance, but the controlling department or property normally issues the approval.
WeatherSummer heat and humidity often bring afternoon thunderstorms. Spring pine pollen can coat vehicles, lenses, filters, and outdoor surfaces. Fall can bring tropical-system remnants, while occasional winter snow or ice may disrupt travel and exterior work.
ParkingDowntown parking becomes tighter during conventions, festivals, Red Hat Amphitheater events, and other major dates. NC State games and Lenovo Center events affect west Raleigh and the areas around Wade Avenue, I-40, and I-440. Reserve loading and production-vehicle space early.
SoundTraffic, rail activity near the Warehouse District, aircraft closer to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, summer insects, and building HVAC systems can affect dialogue. Scout interview spaces at the same time of day as the planned shoot.
DronesCheck every launch site individually. Flights entering controlled airspace require FAA authorization. City aerial requests must be submitted at least seven business days ahead, and Raleigh park rules restrict where some drones may take off and land.

What You Get with Your Raleigh Videographer

One videographer, the whole job handled

A lead Raleigh videographer or producer manages the crew, schedule, locations, equipment, and production requirements. A straightforward interview may use a compact camera, lighting, and audio team. A larger project can include additional camera operators, producers, grips, lighting technicians, drone pilots, teleprompter operators, and production assistants.

After filming, the post-production team can handle editing, color correction, audio cleanup, motion graphics, captions, music licensing, and final delivery. The footage can be prepared as a primary corporate video along with shorter cuts for recruiting, social media, presentations, paid campaigns, or internal communications.

Planning a larger shoot that needs a full crew, specific gear packages, or roles like a DP, gaffer, or grip? See our Raleigh Camera Crew page. For a fully managed, end-to-end production, see our Raleigh Video Production Company page.

    Harman Professional Solutions

I’m a freelance camera operator in Orlando and have worked with Beverly Boy Productions on three projects over the past few years. Each shoot was organized, professional, and ran on time. Call sheets were clear, communication was solid, and the team respected the freelance crew.

    Max Lenz

Despite some tight time constraints, Beverly Boy Productions kept everything running smoothly and on schedule. Felice and her team’s time management skills were truly impressive, and they were always able to adapt quickly to any changes that arose.

    Terry Cristain

Lana at Beverly Boy has been extremely helpful in finding me videographers in multiple locations across the country, sometimes at extremely short notice. The process has always been smooth, simple, and a huge relief.

    Evan Stultz

Hired them for an exterior commercial shoot — not always the easiest conditions. The crew was well crafted, and the lighting techniques they used were truly top-notch. Gordon and his crew were able to create a range of different lighting setups to suit each scene.

    Common Questions

FAQs — Hiring a Videographer in Raleigh

Our half-day, single-camera Raleigh productions generally range from $1,200 to $1,800, depending on the crew, equipment, location, and post-production requirements. Larger or multi-day projects involving additional crew, several locations, aerial filming, and full post-production may range from $9,000 to $14,000 or more.

Property fees, city permits, park permits, reserved parking, traffic control, insurance requirements, travel, graphics, licensed music, and expedited editing can change the final cost. We provide an itemized estimate so the scope can be adjusted before production begins.

Our crews produce corporate and recruiting videos for technology, biotechnology, life-science, healthcare, education, government, and professional-services organizations. We also handle product videos, executive interviews, training content, patient stories, conference coverage, live streaming, documentaries, and brand campaigns.

Research Triangle Park and Centennial Campus support science, research, technology, and recruiting projects. Downtown Raleigh, the Warehouse District, and the Convention Center work well for executive content, startup stories, government communication, conferences, and event coverage.

A straightforward weekday production on private property should generally be scheduled two to three weeks ahead when possible. Productions involving city streets, public plazas, parks, state property, aerial filming, or several locations should begin earlier.

Raleigh recommends at least 30 days for extensive filming that covers multiple locations or production days. Major events, university schedules, state-property approvals, and productions requiring traffic control may also require additional planning.

Yes. We identify the agency, department, or property owner responsible for each location and coordinate the applicable approvals. This may include the City of Raleigh Film and Photography Permit, the annual city park permit, private-property agreements, state-facility approvals, insurance documents, production parking, traffic control, and Raleigh Police support when required.

The North Carolina Film Office can assist with statewide contacts and production guidance, but individual agencies and facilities issue their own property approvals.

Yes. Ground crews use professional Sony, RED, and ARRI cinema systems selected for the project. Aerial work is handled by FAA Part 107-certified pilots using professional drone equipment.

Every proposed flight is reviewed for controlled airspace, temporary restrictions, property permission, city requirements, and park takeoff and landing rules. Areas near Raleigh-Durham International Airport and parts of the Research Triangle may require FAA authorization, depending on the exact flight location.

Raleigh also asks that aerial requests involving city property or public activity be submitted through the Special Events Office at least seven business days ahead. Drone rules within city parks vary by aircraft weight and designated launch area.

Possible additional expenses include property fees, city or park permits, certificates of insurance, reserved parking, traffic-control plans, police staffing, venue charges, and specialized campus access.

Productions may also require weather contingency time for summer storms, tropical-system remnants, or winter ice. Drone operations can add airspace and city review, while busy conventions, concerts, university events, and state-government schedules can tighten location and crew availability.

A polished three-minute video generally falls within our Tier 2 range of $2,500 to $4,500 or Tier 3 range of $4,500 to $7,500. The final cost depends on the number of shoot days, locations, interviews, crew members, graphics, licensed assets, revisions, and delivery formats.

A straightforward single-location interview generally falls near the lower end. A multi-location technology, recruiting, or brand video with aerial footage, custom graphics, licensed music, and several final versions falls higher.
