Behind the Lens: LexisNexis User Conference Filming in Raleigh
Project snapshot: Event Documentary • User Conference • 4 Cameras • 4 Camera Operators • Session Filming • Venue Audio Feed • Audio Enhancement • Digital Session Delivery
Project overview
Beverly Boy Productions supported LexisNexis Legal & Professional with an event documentary production Raleigh conference teams could use to capture key sessions, breakout presentations, and podcast content from their User Conference. Filmed at the Crabtree Marriott in Raleigh, North Carolina, the production focused on recording multiple conference sessions with a streamlined camera-only setup.
The filming plan included one camera per session, with four cameras and four camera operators covering the scheduled panel, breakout sessions, and live CMO podcast. Since audio was pulled directly from the venue feed, no sound operators were needed on-site. Final deliverables included eight digitally delivered sessions with title pages, plus an independently delivered podcast audio file.

CAPTURING A MULTI-SESSION USER CONFERENCE
Conference filming requires a clear plan, especially when multiple sessions happen across the same event schedule. For the LexisNexis User Conference, the production was designed around a practical one-camera-per-session approach, allowing each panel, breakout, and podcast segment to be recorded cleanly and efficiently.
The schedule included a morning panel, multiple afternoon breakout sessions, and a live CMO podcast. With four camera operators assigned across the conference, the team was able to cover simultaneous rooms while maintaining consistent session capture.
Because the production relied on the venue’s audio feed, the setup stayed streamlined while still supporting clear dialogue capture from speakers, panelists, and presenters.
FINAL DELIVERABLES
The final production delivered digitally packaged conference session videos and a separate podcast audio file for LexisNexis Legal & Professional.
The production included:
- Conference Session Filming
A professional multi-session filming setup using four cameras and four camera operators, with one camera assigned per session. - Panel and Breakout Coverage
Coverage included the Legal Marketing & BD Tip-Off panel, multiple Legal Marketer / BD Insights breakout sessions, and the Live CMO Podcast. - Venue Audio Feed Capture
Audio was pulled from the venue feed, eliminating the need for separate on-site sound operators while keeping the workflow efficient. - Digital Session Delivery
Eight sessions were delivered digitally, each including a title page for a more organized final presentation. - Audio Enhancement
Post-production audio enhancement was included for the keynote and breakout session recordings. - Podcast Audio Delivery
The audio file from the live podcast was delivered independently for the client’s separate podcast use.
A PRACTICAL NOTE ON CONFERENCE SESSION FILMING
Conference video production often requires coverage across multiple rooms, speakers, and time blocks. A one-camera-per-session setup is a practical approach when the goal is to document presentations clearly without overcomplicating the footprint in each room.
For user conferences, audio coordination is just as important as camera placement. Pulling audio from the venue feed can keep the setup efficient, but it also requires communication with the venue team before filming begins. Once the sessions are recorded, audio enhancement, title pages, and organized digital delivery help turn raw session footage into useful assets for attendees, internal teams, or post-event distribution.
When a schedule includes panels, breakout sessions, and podcast content, planning camera assignments in advance helps ensure every priority session is captured.
