A Two-Camera Medical Interview Shoot in Indianapolis
M Health hired Beverly Boy Productions for a medical interview shoot in Indianapolis. The project featured two medical professionals discussing a health condition and its treatment, with both participants appearing on camera together.
The client planned to handle the editing internally, so our responsibility was to provide well-lit, clearly recorded footage with enough coverage to give their editors flexibility.
Keeping Up With Changing Details
Several people were involved in planning the shoot, and some of the details changed as the production date approached. We stayed in contact with the client and adjusted the crew, equipment, and interview setup as the requirements were confirmed.
The final plan called for a half-day shoot of up to six hours, including setup and breakdown. We assigned a three-person Indianapolis crew consisting of a director of photography, a camera assistant, and a production assistant.
Covering Two Speakers at Once
The interview was filmed with two 4K cameras. One camera captured individual shots as the conversation moved between the two medical professionals. The second remained on a wider shot that included both participants.
Two interview lighting kits and an additional stage wash were used to light the set. Each speaker wore a wireless lavalier microphone, while a boom microphone provided an additional audio source.
The setup also required two stools and a nine-foot gray backdrop. Our local director of photography, Derek, was able to provide both at no additional cost. This saved the client from having to arrange another equipment rental before the shoot.
Footage Ready for the Client’s Team
After filming, we delivered the raw footage for the client’s in-house editors. They received individual coverage of both speakers, a continuous wide angle, and professionally recorded audio that could be used to assemble the final interview.
The client was happy with the production and appreciated the additional help with the set. Although it was a half-day assignment, the project required careful coordination to keep the changing details, technical setup, and two-person interview on track.
