HOTEL GRAND OPENING VIDEO PRODUCTION
Beverly Boy Productions films hotel and resort grand-opening weekends: full-day coverage of ribbon moments, pop-up events, guest experiences, and leadership interviews, with edits timed for the opening buzz. If your property is launching and marketing needs footage from the biggest days (not a one-hour walkthrough). This is the service page for that weekend.
Grand openings are messy in a good way. Schedules slip, surprise activations appear, and someone always asks for an extra shooter for an off-site moment. We plan a primary crew for the full days and keep the quote honest about overtime and second units when the weekend expands.
What's Included in Hotel Grand Opening Video Production
- Multi-day (often Friday-Sunday) coverage of opening events, entertainment, and public moments
- Leadership and partner interviews on site
- B-roll of rooms, amenities, food and beverage, and guest energy, shot to brand guidelines when you provide them
- Optional second shooter for overlapping activations or an off-site surprise
- Same-week highlight and social cutdowns when your PR calendar needs them
- Tie-in with corporate event videography for formal ceremonies and stage moments
- Optional vertical social package via social media video production
Typical Crew and Gear
A grand-opening weekend usually runs one or two camera teams across full days, with sound for interviews and enough media management to keep cards straight when events stack. Drone is available where the property and local rules allow it. Our drone pilots are FAA Part 107 certified, and we never assume airspace clearance. Lighting stays mobile; these days are walk-and-follow more than studio.
Planning Hotel Grand Opening Video Production
Opening weeks move fast and some spaces may still be getting finished, so we build the shot list around what is guest-ready and keep a backup list for areas that open late. Most properties want three things from one shoot: leadership interviews, amenity and room b-roll they can reuse for months, and quick social clips during the weekend. Any drone aerials are flown by FAA Part 107 certified pilots under the FAA’s commercial drone rules (Part 107) and the property’s own guest-privacy limits.
How the Process Works
- Opening calendar. You share the public schedule, VIP blocks, and any embargo rules.
- Shot priorities. We mark must-have moments (ribbon, keynote, signature amenity) vs. nice-to-have roaming.
- Crew plan. Primary unit plus optional second shooter for overlap days.
- Shoot weekend. Full days with check-ins at lunch so priorities can shift when the property adds a pop-up.
- Edits. Highlight film and social cuts on the timeline you need for press and owned channels.
What Drives the Quote
Number of shoot days, crew size, second-unit hours, drone, overnight turns, and travel or lodging near the property. A three-day resort opening with an extra shooter is a different job from a two-hour ribbon cutting. We quote from your calendar.
Proof on Our Site
For an example of brand-opening event coverage already published on BeverlyBoy.com, see our project spotlight on the Tag Heuer grand opening in Austin. Hotel and resort weekends follow the same event discipline: longer days, more roaming, tighter PR deadlines.
JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa, Greece
For JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa, Beverly Boy Productions filmed an interview-driven brand feature on location in Crete, Greece. The shoot covered conversations with hospitality and culinary leaders, resort b-roll, and drone aerials to show the property’s scale along the Mediterranean, with a local crew coordinated alongside the hotel’s ownership and PR teams. Tavares Beverly, our founder, wrote about planning that production in this Medium article on earning client trust before the cameras roll.
Where We Cover Openings
We travel to resort and hotel markets nationwide. Local support and pickup days can run through our Atlanta videographer, Miami videographer, Chicago videographer, and Los Angeles videographer pages when you need city-based continuity before or after opening weekend.

FAQs: Hotel Grand Opening Video Production
What does hotel grand opening video production include?
Full-day filming across the opening weekend: ceremonies, activations, interviews, amenity b-roll, and edited highlights or social cuts timed for launch PR.
Can you cover Friday through Sunday?
Yes. Multi-day weekends are the usual pattern for resort and large hotel launches. We build the crew for the days you mark as highest traffic.
Do you send a second shooter for overlapping events?
When two must-have moments land at the same time, we add a second unit. Call that out when you share the calendar so it is in the quote, not a day-of scramble.
How fast can we get social cuts after opening day?
Same-week turnarounds are common when booked up front. Same-day is possible for a short vertical when an editor is on the job. Ask for that specifically.
Is drone included?
Only when the property, local regulations, and weather allow it. We treat drone as an optional line, not a default, and every flight is run by an FAA Part 107 certified pilot. Drone add-ons start at $950-$1,250 for a half day.
Can you work from brand guidelines and shot lists from the agency?
Yes. Agency or in-house marketing shot lists are welcome; we use them as the spine and adapt when live events shift.
How is this different from generic corporate event coverage?
Grand openings run longer, mix public spectacle with private VIP blocks, and usually need marketing-ready cuts in the same week, not only an archival recap.
Have you filmed at international hotels and resorts?
Yes. We filmed an interview-driven brand feature at JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa in Crete, Greece, including leadership interviews, resort b-roll, and drone aerials. We also covered the Tag Heuer grand opening in Austin.
