During an annual festival which has taken place during the winter months. Typically in early December or the last week of November.

The Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival (TBUFF) has spent 7 years running annually. With the support of award-winning area filmmakers, actors, artists, and critics in the underground film industry. The goal? To catch independent films and their makers before they fall through the cracks.

TBUFF provides independent filmmakers, and their cast and crew members, an opportunity to experience their work on the big screen. While offering a variety of awards and representations for work well done. 

Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival submissions range in style, and quality. The nature of the underground film industry is for there to be a lack of budget, and that’s okay!

TBUFF welcomes any genre, any style, and any filmmaking techniques. Featuring slots for just about anything you can imagine.

Submissions to the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival generally take place several months prior to the festival. This all-genre festival features both shorts and features including a mix of narratives and documentary films.
