MULTI-CAMERA TV NEWS SET PRODUCTION
Beverly Boy Productions builds multi-camera TV news sets for summits and secured events: three (or more) camera angles, teleprompter and IFB, with a live switcher and OB/PCR-style monitoring arranged on request, so producers can run a broadcast-style desk on site. If you need a news-set package inside a hotel ballroom, conference secure zone, or temporary studio, this is the page that describes how we staff and wire it.
This is not a generic livestream page. The ask we keep getting from broadcast and news producers is a short list of gear and roles: wide plus ISOs, a switch operator, a return feed, and a quiet workspace next to the set. We quote that package as one production, then confirm what your venue and security team can actually allow before anyone rolls cable.
What's Included in Multi-Camera TV News Set Production
- Multi-camera coverage (typically one wide and two ISO close-ups; more cameras when the rundown needs them)
- Lighting and audio for a desk / table setup with up to a few on-camera guests
- Teleprompter production with an operator when talent is reading to camera
- Production switcher, switch operator, and monitoring arranged on request (subject to operator availability), including a return feed when your team needs it
- Separate OB/PCR-style control space when the room allows it
- IFB / PL so talent and producers can talk without breaking the shot
- Program and ISO recordings for edit or archive
- Optional tie-in to live streaming services when the set also needs to go out live
Typical Crew and Gear
A two-day news set usually looks like camera operators for each angle, a switch / TD role, a teleprompter operator when scripts are running, audio, and a producer or PA who keeps the rundown moving. Cameras and glass are chosen for interview distance and lighting conditions in the room, not a one-size kit list pasted from a catalog.
Note for producers: switcher and OB/PCR staffing is confirmed per job against available operators and the venue’s power, space, and security rules. We do not promise credentialing, dedicated power drops, or floor space that your host or venue controls. Tell us what you already have locked (workspace for producers, Wi-Fi, printer access, secure-zone rules) and we build the crew around that.
When to Choose Multi-Camera TV News Set Production
A news-style set fits when you need a program that looks like broadcast: hosts at a desk, guests rotating through, and a live or near-live cut. If your talent hears producers through an earpiece, the set needs IFB (interruptible foldback) planned with audio from day one. For roaming coverage without a desk, a smaller interview crew is usually the better fit. Tell us the format and we will recommend the leaner option when it does the job.
How the Process Works
- Tech rider and rundown. You send camera count, days, desk layout, teleprompter needs, return-feed requirements, and any secure-zone constraints.
- Site or remote advance. We confirm power, cable paths, control-room location, and where talent sits relative to cameras.
- Build and rehearsal. Set dress, lighting, IFB checks, switcher rehearsal, and a dry run of the open and closes.
- Show days. Live switching with ISOs rolling; producer notes captured for any same-day turnarounds you booked.
- Wrap and handoff. Program files, ISOs, and a clear media inventory, overnight or as agreed.
What Drives the Quote
Cost moves with camera count, number of show days, whether you need a dedicated switcher/OB desk, teleprompter, overnight turns, and travel. Multi-day summit news sets with full switching and control are a different job from a single-camera interview day. We quote from your rider because secured venues change the labor and gear picture. Our live and multi-camera productions typically range from $4,500 to $10,000, depending on camera count, show days, and switching.
Where We Cover These Sets
We work summit and conference markets across the U.S. Recent asks have included South Florida secured venues; we also staff similar multi-camera desk setups in major markets. FAQs: Multi-Camera TV News Sets
What is a multi-camera TV news set for a summit?
It is a temporary desk or table setup with multiple cameras, lighting, audio, and usually a switcher so producers can cut a live program the way a newsroom would, not just record three separate cameras for later edit.
Do you provide the switcher and OB/PCR?
We can arrange a switcher, switch operator, and OB/PCR-style monitoring on request. They are not included by default; operator availability and venue constraints are confirmed before we lock the quote.
Can you work inside a secured summit zone?
We regularly work restricted conference floors when the host clears our crew and gear. Credentialing, bag checks, and workspace allocation are handled by your security or venue team; we supply the people and equipment they approve.
Is teleprompter included?
Teleprompter plus operator is a common add for desk talent reading opens and closes. If your rundown is fully off-book, we can leave it off the quote.
Do you also livestream the news set?
Yes, when you need a program feed online. Livestream encoding and platforms are scoped separately from the in-room switch so redundancy stays clear.
How many days of prep do you need?
A full news set with switcher and teleprompter usually needs at least one build/rehearsal day before show days, plus advance calls. Tighter timelines are possible when the room is already lit and power is ready. Ask early.
What deliverables do broadcast clients usually take?
Program recording, ISO camera files, and a media log. Some clients also want same-day selects or a short social cut from the desk segments.
