The Story

Tavares Beverly started his career in front of a camera on a local Chicago television show, then trained in theater through high school and earned a musical theater production scholarship to Florida Memorial University. He went on to work nearly every role on a professional set: actor, production assistant, camera operator, and sound technician.

On Christmas Day 2001, he handed his brother Kael a handwritten business plan outlining a vision for Beverly Boy Industries, a family-driven portfolio spanning real estate, apparel, publishing, and production. Weeks later, Kael bought a $1,500 camera from a Circuit City in Los Angeles. Beverly Boy Productions launched in downtown Miami in 2002, starting with regional TV commercial clients across South Florida.

The company survived the 2008 economic downturn through careful management and a long-term outlook. As the market rebounded, Beverly Boy expanded into reality television production, opening doors to crews and partnerships across major U.S. cities. By 2012, a multi-city agency contract accelerated the company’s national footprint.

Today, Beverly Boy Productions produces multiple film projects each week for clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 brands, including Airbnb, W Hotels, Taco Bell, GEICO, and Target. Tavares continues to mentor emerging filmmakers and share production knowledge through the BeverlyBoy.com blog.
