Are you tired of the same old corporate videos that feel overly…corporate? We were too! But we’ve come up with some ways that you can have fun, create corporate videos, and please the audience – all at the same time.
We’re showing you how with these tips & tricks for engaging corporate video production for business entities and brands.
Message to the CEO: You’re Going on Camera…Relax!
Have you ever noticed how some CEOs were made for the spotlight and others just weren’t? We have too!
So when we create corporate videos that are going to involve the CEO of a business, the first thing we like to do is give them a call to let them know ahead of time that they’re going to have a role in the corporate video. Then, we tell them to relax!
Professional Production
Whether you’re the CEO or some other member of the business, corporate video for business almost always features someone that is camera shy and yet very much a big part of the brand and their story – so there’s really no getting out of including this individual in the production. So what do we do?
We let the individual know who they will speak in front of, what is expected of them, what they should wear, how long it will taken and what they can do to relax.
If merely reading this has your blood pressure rising, now is a great time to start breathing. Try not to be too overwhelmed at the idea of being in the spotlight.
Practice Makes Perfect
How can you relax? Practice. The more you can practice your part the more relaxed you will be when our camera crew arrives.
Corporate video production for business members, such as our example of involving the CEO, can be tough to pull off, but with appropriate preparation on your part, all will be fine.
At Beverly Boy Productions our camera crew focuses on capturing the best of your image and acting skills. You don’t need to worry or be scared. We’ll work closely, help you get your message across, and then we’ll move on. It’s that simple!
Wear Dark, Solid, Muted Colors (And Avoid Dangling Jewelry)
While you may initially be tempted to wear bright white or a light patterned shirt or dress, when we create corporate video production for business we generally recommend that you avoid bright, white, or colored clothes and certainly do NOT wear a lot of jewelry to accept your look.
Dangling jewels can interrupt the camera in a way that prevents the audience from being able to hear what you have to say, especially if your microphone is attached nearby.
Dark colors or muted tones are both flattering and tend to allow the cameras to catch your full silhouette if filming at an angle or capturing you from behind for B-roll.
Lights, Camera, Action

When the camera is shooting it’s important that you know your part and what is expected. While corporate video production for business is a little different than a multi-series film or movie, the time you spend on set will be similar.
Deadlines are important, the entire set will likely be fast-paced, and it will be important for you to know your place.
Most of the time you’ll be asked a series of questions before you are on camera so that you have a good idea of what to expect when the cameras begin rolling. If you’re asked to talk to the camera, consider looking past it to the director or beyond.
Do not look directly into the camera. If you have an audience, now is a good time to look at them and act as if you are there answering their questions.
Prepare to Engage
Most corporate video production for business entities will include at least a brief interview with you, the CEO, so be prepared to engage. As you answer questions, make sure that you repeat the question back in your answer.
This is because the director or cameraman asking you the questions likely does not have a mic and will most likely not be included in the film.
Your repeat of the question ensures that editing knows what you are talking about when the get the tracks.
For example, if the producer or cameraman asks you, “What is your favorite food?” your response will include the question so that there is appropriate reference of the question. You might say, “My favorite food is Pizza.”
Take Your Time, It Will be Over Quickly

Finally, as you prepare for your corporate video production for business, it is important for you to realize that the entire taping process for your corporate video will most likely be just a few hours from start to finish.
The time that you will be required to work with the camera operator and director is likely to be in the range of about an hour or less. Don’t rush it, don’t be afraid, and don’t worry – it will all be over quickly!
