Additionally, depending on the platform that you share your video on, most of the time shorter is better.  For most marketing videos 30 to 90 seconds is the ideal length with 1 minute being the sweet spot. If you’re going too much beyond that, you’re just wasting time.

  1. Not Including a CTA

This, along with only including the CTA at the very end of the video, are two very common mistakes that are made in video marketing. We’re so trained to expect the CTA at the end, that we often forget that it’s possible (and acceptable) to place the CTA earlier on in a video.

Even if it feels a little bit promotional or salesy, it can still be okay to put the CTA into your video a little bit earlier. Just make sure that your call to action is very clear, you don’t want your audience wondering what you expect from them.

Are you focusing all of your time on the spoken words in your video? Are you writing out detailed scripts that are super “wordy” with little consideration for the visuals? If you’re telling your story as if you were reading a book instead of sharing your story visually, you’re missing the point of video marketing all together! 

This kind of goes along with making the mistake of flooding your video with information in such a way that the audience missing the entire point overall. If you have a lot of information to share, consider multiple videos, heavy use of visual aids, and utilizing graphics to your advantage!
