In Dallas, Texas we use top-quality gear for each shoot. We’ve recently compiled some of our favorite cameras in a list so you can have a glimpse at what our talented and experienced Dallas video camera crews depend on. Whether we’re filming footage at the Dallas Museum of Art or shooting b-roll at Union Station, our favorite cameras working with the right lens kit and operator are what will ensure quality footage for your project.

Below is our list of 8 awesome cameras used by the top Dallas video camera crews. From HD 1080p to 4k, we have a wonderful team of DP’s and cinematographers that know how great gear used by top Dallas camera ops can make a difference in the quality of your footage. Check out our favorites:

Canon EOS 5D Mark III

Canon EOS 5D

While some people consider customization buttons to be time-consuming, we don’t. We like being able to set our gear up to the way we like it, and with this Canon camera we can. It also does a pretty good job at capturing subjects in motion.

Sony A7S

We know that not every camera has the ability to capture footage in low-light settings; at least not good footage. That’s why we’re loving on our Sony A7S. With expansive ISO, as well as wide dynamic range, it’s easy to capture the footage we want, when we want to. Although it doesn’t do so well with movement, individual shoots, and nighttime filming is ideal with this baby.

Arri Alexa Mini

ARRI ALEXA MINI

It’s nice to have a reliable camera that is always available for any kind of shoot. The compact Mini isn’t the best camera we have but it may be the smallest, making it perfect for our go-to needs. Plus, it gets clear images and has a great zoom, so we know that we can depend on it.

Red Dragon

Our Red Dragon is a favorite for our Dallas video camera crews. It’s the way that it can capture great footage and provides us with a lot of features while still being so easy to maneuver that has us loving it. Made from carbon fiber and providing footage in 6k, we don’t what more we could ask for.

Arri Amira

ARRI AMIRA

Looking like she belongs in the 80s, Arri Amira actually brings a lot to the table. With ideal exposure index, and 14+stops of dynamic range, we’re able to use this camera for a variety of projects. We also love how easy it is to customize this camera to be ready to start filming for various types of project needs.

Canon EOS C300 MKII

Canon C300

The Canon C300 is light and easy to carry. We like that we can personalize settings for our specific styles and programs. We also appreciate how many ports it has, so we can connect it to adaptable gear for better footage than ever before.

Sony PMW F55 CineAlta 4k Digital Cinema Camera

Sony F55

When we want to be sure to capture the clearest footage imaginable, we use this camera. It provides us with no-noise images, thanks to it’s quality. With a dynamic range, as well as it’s 8.9 megapixels, it’s a camera that we can depend on for Hollywood worthy productions.

Black Magic Production 4k Camera

Blackmagic Cinema

The Black Magic Production is ideal for filming things in motion and for when you want to capture stable footage. Because of the global shutter, we have been able to say goodbye to the days of wobbly footage and hello to clear images. We aren’t crazy about how heavy this thing is, but fortunately it works with our PL and EF mounts. Our Dallas video camera crews love using it for a variety of projects.
